New version of Oxygen (colored) Plasma system tray icons

If you’re fed up of staring at a boring, low-contrast all-gray system tray with icons inconsistent with the rest of your system, it’s time to bring some color into your life, or at least your system tray. ;) In other words, my Oxygen Plasma (≥ 4.5) system tray icons are for you. Please note that credit for the actual artwork goes to the Oxygen icon theme team, I only did the required format conversions. (On the other hand, if things look ugly, it’s probably my fault. ;))

Today, I have updated the package to include a colored version of kpackagekit.svgz, which contains 3 icons (plus a currently unused fourth one) used by Apper. The icons are again converted from the Oxygen icon theme. So if you were using revision 1 of my theme on Fedora 16 and the gray Apper icon was sticking out like a sore thumb, the updated revision 2 is for you!

Many thanks, systray is alive again. I found one thing, kwallet icon is smaller than others. I’ll have a look if there is larger version. If not i’ll try to get it from some older KDE release. BTW I have a question, may I ship this icon set with KDE 4.0 Oxygen theme I’ve recreated?

      > I found one thing, kwallet icon is smaller than others.

The sizes respect the proportions of the original Oxygen icons. The reason the KWallet icon doesn’t use the full height is because there’s an “open” version of the icon where you see papers sticking out of the wallet, using the remaining height. Plus, a physical wallet has similar height:width proportions to that icon. So IMHO it is fine as is, and changing it would also go counter to the goal of using as unmodified as possible Oxygen icons.

Of course. The license is such that you don’t even have to ask.

However, please make sure you ship the complete licensing information, i.e.:
      * the Oxygen license (basically some clarifications to the LGPLv3 for artwork),
      * the LGPLv3 license it references,
      * the GPLv3 license referenced by the LGPLv3.
Please also include my readme file, which contains a copyright notice and other important information. I’d recommend just including the whole icons directory in your theme, including all the text files in it.

Also, if you end up replacing some icons (such as the wallet icon), please make sure you clearly state such.

For now I shipped your icons pack “as is” including all the text files. I hope I’ll find spare moment to look into kwallet icon issue during holidays.
For anyone interested my early Oxygen theme remake is available here:

As I said, IMHO the KWallet icon has no “issue” at all…
